      Ryder Cup- Opinions please

I know next to nothing about golf but I know odds, looking at the betting on Ryder Cup it feels wrong. USA at home- always a close game to me they look a massive price but my golf expert is on holiday- any views?

The USA isn't at home. They're playing in Scotland. The Ryder Cup is SOOOOO much about emotion, streaks, poise, coaching, and the intangibles. If I had to go with gut instinct, (and a little bit of rooting interest) I'd say the USA might be getting a bit of an overlay.

Believe it or not, I think Tiger has hampered some of the past Ryder Cups. He doesn't play that great in them. (I have no clue why) But a lot of players still take it for granted that his matches are forgone conclusions. Then when he loses a couple, it weighs down and dampens the spirit of the rest of the team. This year, with no Tiger, I expect to see a LOT more emotion from Phil, Rickie, Zach, and especially Bubba. Also with Spieth in the mix, things could get really interesting.

THIS year, the European team will be facing the exact same situation with Rory. They're all counting his matches as wins and he hasn't even teed up yet. If he crashes and burns on a few, it might be catching. The flip side could happen as well. He could catch fire and rip the USA a new asshole. THAT might be contagious as well.

Good luck. I'll be watching it.

I have been watching the Ryder cup for decades, and I think the US is gonna tie but the Europeans will retain the Cup.

Bit of an anticlimax (shows how much I know bout golf-can't even get venue right). I've always respected Phil M but thought he was out of order criticising Tom Watson in public. The man is a legend- have a go in the dressing room if you're not happy with his tactics not at a public meeting!
