Book Club - Chick flick all the way, but great cast and lots of laughs.

Thanks for the post. I will not watch anything with Hanoi Jane in it.

Saw Lady Bird on Blu Ray. Entertaining chick flick, but I am tired of twenty-somethings playing teen aged high school students. I know there are very talented teens who can play the parts.

I think Saoirse Ronan is fabulous. First time I saw her was Brooklyn, think she has a long career. I'm okay with a 24 year old playing a teenager, especially when they can pull it off like I think she did. I do agree, however that sometimes it's like who are they kidding?

      Wonderstruck.

This was weird. Kinda liked it, I think. Artistically it was really unique and beautiful to look at. They went back and forth between 2 timelines 50 years apart and the set dec was on point. The story was a bit slow to get started, but I was intrigued and couldn't turn it off.

      Yep. Weird.

      Love, Simon

A well done millennial film. Reminded me a bit of the old John Hughes films. A high schooler comes to terms with being gay. They handled the topic surprisingly well.

I watched another high school film on netflix last week - enjoyable, but I was thinking no way would I want my child watching this if I had one. It was so raunchy and all about sex and profanity. Kids grow up fast enough. (I sound like my mom). Love, Simon was refreshing because it wasn't scandalous. It was a provacative topic with taste.

      The Bachelors

I'm a JK Simmons fan. This was a sad, sweet film about love and loss. Simple indie flick.

Slow moving flick with Helen Mirren as Sarah Winchester who has spirits of peeps killed by the famous Winchester repeating rifles haunting her 100 room house in San Jose, CA.
